Inside Line Promotions – FORT WORTH, Texas (May 18, 2016) – Harli White earned her career-best Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour result last Saturday during the Texas World Dirt Track Championships to cap a successful weekend at Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track.

The doubleheader began on Friday with White placing sixth in a heat race and seventh in a qualifier. That relegated her to a B Main, where she captured the third-and-final transfer into the back of the 20-lap main event.

“We were fast, but the track started rubbering up so there wasn’t much passing,” she said. “We just couldn’t do much with how the track was. I think if we could have started further up (in the feature) we’d have done more. Starting last put a damper on us, but we finished the race and we didn’t tear up anything other than tires.”

White maneuvered from 22nd to score a 13th-place finish, which earned her the Hard Charger Award for passing the most cars.

That provided momentum entering Saturday’s finale, which White opened by advancing from seventh to fourth place in a heat race before she won a qualifier. That put her ninth in overall points entering the main event.

“We had a good car again,” she said. “I got a few spots early in the race and I was on (Matt) Covington most of the race. I was faster, but he never messed up and I couldn’t seem to get around him. It’s hard passing those guys racing at this level because they don’t make mistakes.”

White maintained a top 10 throughout the feature before posting a sixth-place result, which was her best with the series.

“Whenever I came in from running sixth everyone was pumped,” she said. “My dad was like, ‘I feel like we just won a NASCAR race.’ We all felt like that was a win for us with what we’ve been dealing with this season. We have a roll going now. We’re excited to go racing. We’re going to see if we can get some top fives and wins.”

White is scheduled to return to sprint car action this Friday at Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa, Okla., and Saturday at Lawton Speedway in Lawton, Okla., with the ASCS Red River Region.
