Inside Line Promotions – AMARILLO, Texas (June 13, 2017) – Harli White recorded her first top-10 finish of the season with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour last Friday during the opening round of the Sizzlin’ Summer Speedweek.

White opened the seven-race event on Friday at West Texas Raceway in Lubbock, Texas, where she made her debut by finishing second in a heat race. That earned enough points to lock into the feature redraw, in which she pulled the No. 6 to start the main event on the outside of the third row.

“We didn’t expect the race track to do what it did and we were a bit snug,” she said. “I was able to hang on and finish where we did. A lot of people were snug as well and a few people flipped. We were pretty decent. It’s hard to run in the top 10 with Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour guys so we were glad to finish in a good position.”

White battled just outside the top five for most of the race before ending seventh, which marked her seventh top 10 overall this season.

Route 66 Motor Speedway hosted the second Speedweek round on Saturday. White placed fifth in a heat race, which lined her up on the outside of the seventh row for the main event.

“I was up to ninth with four laps to go when the right rear blew,” she said. “People were blowing tires left and right. It was one of those deals where we blew a tire and that’s just part of it on a rubber-down track.”

White, who was in contention for her second straight top 10, was credited with a 16th-place result.

“The first couple of nights were good,” she said. “Our goal was to finish, get top 10s and be consistent. We had a fast car, just the circumstances didn’t play in our favor. We definitely know our car is a lot better than it has been. We just have to stay out of trouble.”

The remaining Speedweek races are Tuesday at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas; Wednesday at Lawton Speedway in Lawton, Okla.; Thursday at Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa, Okla.; Friday at Randolph County Raceway in Moberly, Mo.; and Saturday at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Mo.
