Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (Aug. 8, 2017) – Harli White will make her Knoxville Nationals debut this week during the 57th annual 5-Hour Energy Knoxville Nationals presented by Casey’s General Store at Knoxville Raceway.

Her preliminary night is slated for Wednesday. She will also compete on Friday during the Speed Sport Challenge, which she was invited to participate in after racing in Australia throughout the offseason.

“It’s huge,” she said. “I’ve only been to the 410 Nationals once to be a spectator. I know how big of an event is. We have some good laps under our belt leading up to it.”

White competed last weekend at Knoxville Raceway during the 27th annual 360 Knoxville Nationals presented by Great Southern Bank. She opened the action on Thursday by qualifying 30th quickest. A third-place result in a heat race locked her into the main event.

“Time trialing didn’t go well, but we made the heat race inversion,” she said. “I transferred through the heat race to the A Main. On the first lap I got in the big pile up. It tore up the car pretty bad. They were able to get it fixed in time to get on the track. We picked up a couple of positions and then after the race we found out the car was bent.”

White rebounded from the early crash to rally from the back to a 16th-place finish. That relegated her to the eighth-starting position in Saturday’s C Main.

“We made a minor error on the setup,” she said. “I pulled off because we were struggling and I didn’t want to risk tearing up the car.”

White was credited with a 16th-place finish to close the event.

She made her 410ci winged sprint car debut in the United States on Sunday at Knoxville Raceway during the Capitani Classic.

“I just hot lapped and qualified,” she said. “We just shook it down and got my feet wet in it. The speed wasn’t that much of a difference to me. I think it helps that I’ve been at Knoxville for the past month.”

She qualified 28th quickest, but did not start a heat race or B Main.

“I also want to welcome Nattress Construction to our team and thank them for the support,” she said.

In other news, White will participate in an autograph session at 4 p.m. local on Thursday at the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame with Erin Crocker Evernham and MaKenna Haase.

Additionally, White will have her t-shirt trailer with new apparel – as well as apparel for Aaron Reutzel and Paige Polyak – at the track throughout the Knoxville Nationals.
