Inside Line Promotions – AMARILLO, Texas (June 12, 2018) – Harli White extended her top-10 streak to seven straight races thanks to a pair of solid results last weekend during the first two rounds of the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour presented by SawBlade.com Speedweek.

White kicked off the six-race spectacle last Friday at West Texas Speedway in Lubbock, Texas, where a third-place run in a heat race lined her up on the outside of the fifth row for the A Main.

“We were really, really good,” she said. “I was up to about fifth after a great start. I made a couple of minor mistakes and dropped back to about 11th or so. I raced my way back to ninth. I learned a lesson there. I was doing good running the line I was running. I thought I’d change it up to catch the person in front of me and it bit me. That cost me four or five positions. However, in the big picture, it’s good to go forward even if it’s only one position.”

White battled inside the top 10 throughout most of the race before finishing ninth. She also netted a top 10 at the track during a Speedweek show last year.

The team ventured to Route 66 Motor Speedway on Saturday when a rain storm delayed the action. White advanced from fourth to third place in a heat race, which earned enough points to make the feature redraw. Unfortunately, she pulled the second-highest number – seven – to start the A Main on the inside of the fourth row.

“We were on a rain delay for about three hours,” she said. “It didn’t look promising at first. They kept at it and really wanted to get the race in. The fans stuck around so that was exciting.

“At the start of the race it was kind of chaotic. The track was locked down and not real racy. My car really came in with about 10 laps to go and that’s when I started going forward. Every lap was getting better. The last five laps I was one of the fastest cars on the race track.”

White was methodical throughout the main event as she competed for a top five until crossing the finish line in fifth. It marked her first top five of the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour season and propelled her to a tie for fourth in the Speedweek standings.

“We let the car work and see what it could do,” she said. “It’s helped us a ton to be consistent and fast all night long. I feel good knowing we have a fast race car right now. Hopefully if everything goes right we’ll continue on this good streak of top 10s and top fives.”

White has climbed into 11th place in the championship standings – only 13 points out of ninth place – entering Tuesday’s Speedweek show at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas. From there teams head to Lawton Speedway in Lawton, Okla., on Wednesday; Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa, Okla., on Thursday; and Salina Speedway in Salina, Kan., on Saturday.
