Bryan Hulbert – POCOLA, Okla. (June 3, 2020) Taking on the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Sooner Region presented by Smiley’s Racing Products this past weekend, Harli White secured a weekend high fifth-place finish at Tri-State Speedway after a hard-charging sixth-place showing at Creek County Speedway.

“Overall, we had a good weekend. It’s nice to get back behind the wheel and get back in a groove. Plus begin able to race close to home around family, friends, and some of our biggest supports was a lot of fun,” stated White of the Oklahoma weekend.

Having to battle through a B-Feature at Creek County Speedway, Harli was able to climb from 16th to sixth before the checkered flag dropped.

“We were good, I just messed up and didn’t take advantage of the Qualifier so that put us behind, but that was a fun race. I like when Creek gets like that with a big cushion you can really race on.”

Moving to the high-banked Tri-State Speedway on Saturday, White maintained inside the top five from most of the A-Feature. Slipping to sixth after an open red, fourth running Roger Crockett ended up parked in the first turn with a mechanical failure; allowing White to get one more spot on the final lap.

“Tri-State, you can run the bottom and make it work, but you have to all but stop on entry to make it work. I just decided that’s what I was going to do and after the open red, Johnny and I talked about the car and decided to try the top and I lost a few spots. After that, I went back to the bottom and used the restarts to get back towards the front.”

Up next for White will be a pair of nights with the Ollies Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 at Lawton Speedway on Thursday, June 4, and Red Dirt Raceway on Friday, June 5.

“We wanted to race this weekend, but the forecast looks like we just need to stay home and get ready for the [ASCS] Sooner Region shows at Meeker and Pocola at the end of the month”

The 2020 season marks the 13th year of racing for Harli White. Racing full time with the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network, Harli will also mix in several events throughout the country when not on the road.
